Lessons learned

A lot of this is simply thoughts about what I notice in the world. And, for that reason, it’s a skewed view.

Most of us discover new things daily. I’d like to believe that anyway.

What we take away from new experiences – that shapes a lot of who we are.

Doing less

You’ve heard it said. You can’t do it all.

That’s true. It doesn’t stop most of us from trying.

Learn to delegate. To trust.

Wanting to much control implies a lack of trust in others.

Find those willing to journey with you.

Finding joy

It’s not always the easiest thing. Life can be hard sometimes.

But don’t focus solely on happiness, which can come and go based on a number of circumstances.

Instead, cultivate joy… an acceptance of your life, and the ability to look forward to what may come.

Sing out

Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.” – Henry van Dyke

There’s a constant struggle that happens. Do, or do not.

The world needs your talents. You might feel scared, or be gripped by imposter syndrome. But you are the only one who can be you.

Don’t deprive the world of what you can bring into it.

Digital do-over

Had my phone unexpectedly stop working (only momentarily, but long enough to cause a minor catastrophe). So I purchased a new one.

Only, I wasn’t able to transfer anything over. Which was mildly infuriating.

For about a day. Then, as I went without all the things I would typically use on my phone, reinstalling apps only as they were necessitated, I realized it wasn’t so bad.

We become entirely reliant on that which we have access to. But, even twenty years ago, phones weren’t as smart as they are now. And we did okay.

Sometimes it may seem difficult to let go. Until you actually do, and realize it may not have been so bad after all.
